It's 12:15p and my phone won't stop notifying me of new texts, as well as social media alerts. The news of Season 5 being the last season of Fixer Upper has just broken the internet.  Comments to date have ranged from, "how long have you known?" to "what are you going to do now?"  I've spent the morning attempting to respond to each and every message with care and diligence because I truly appreciate the "Fixer Upper Effect" on my life.  That effect has been a positive one, with some growth in business as well as many new friendships that I otherwise would not have.

My attempt at summing this all up won't be 100% because the moment you found out about the last hoorah is the same moment I did.  There are lots of emotions here and to say I'm not sad would be me flat out lying to you and to myself.  Here's the balance of the sadness for me...if you know anything about me, you know that I've done work for Chip and Jo for over 12 years now.  These aren't two people I met because of a show.  These are two people that I met in the world of entrepreneurship which is a world that I LOVE!  I appreciate their friendship and their passion for everything so much more than the chance to be on the show.  I appreciate the fact that they brought me along for the ride. I don't remember a time on any home show that a glazier was heard speaking.  The opportunity I've had to expose my industry to the world is one that I can never say "thank you" enough for.  So when I hear the two of them say that they need to pivot their focus and their family is part of that decision, I am reminded how truly smart they are.  I know, I know, you're thinking, "maybe Jo but certainly not Chip."  Well, you're right, I'm kidding!!!  Clearly these two are wise beyond their years and I am truly happy for them.

I personally can't believe that showing up to measure a broken window 12 years ago because the other glass guy didn't, would lead to what it has.  I am so thankful for the opportunity to be part of something that has had such a reach.

I don't know what's next for my friends, the Gaines.  I can tell you that for me and my crew, it will be business as normal in Waco for Anderson Glass.  I'll still be out and about with my amazing team making folks’ dreams and ideas a reality. Who knows, maybe Season 5 won't be the last time you see the Ginger Glazier.
