It’s cold.  The chill from the turf is enough to offset the warmth of a blanket. The premiere of Fixer Upper season 5 has just aired and I am so excited that the cold air in McLane Stadium doesn't even bother me. As I walk with my wife out of the stadium, I can't help but smile.  I've been allowed to be a part of something that has allowed me to do the things I never thought I would do in Waco.  I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of this crazy ride.  Now you might think it’s pretty amazing that I am able to get all these crazy projects done under the crazy deadlines with the crazy amounts of stress but the truth is...I can't do any of this by myself. See, during this moment, I begin to reflect on the things I’m thankful for.  The people that have been a part of this story.  First and foremost, I’m so thankful for the family that supports me while I chase my crazy dreams.  I’m thankful for my team, the guys and girls that put in such an effort to make our company look so good, day in and day out.  I’m thankful for the relationships that have been developed over the last couple of seasons of being on Fixer Upper.  I can’t tell you how excited I get when I see my Twitter feed blown up by the live tweet crew. I can’t begin to explain what an honor it is to work with such an amazing production team, not just in Waco but in Colorado, too. In addition to that, I’ve become friends with guys and girls from other shows on HGTV, not to mention some of the folks that work for HGTV.  I have countless friendships with Magnolia employees from the homes department to construction to the store and the bakery.  Did I mention that I have some pretty cool relationships with some of the other artisans from the show?  The list goes on...subcontractors, clients, and so on.  You might also remember that I am a partner in a completely separate company that runs while I am off managing other aspects of life thanks to an awesome partner and great staff.  I have a group of close friends that consistently give me a hard time and help keep me grounded.  I can go on for a very long time but ultimately what I am trying to say here is that I am blessed to be where I am and extremely thankful for everyone that plays a role in that.

See, on the day before Thanksgiving, the day where you give thanks, I am honestly thankful just to be here.
